Two Dashes of Glam | Summer Holiday Makeup

Last time the beautiful Melissa, from KissandMakeupsBeautyBlog, and I brought back girl power, but this time we were feeling the summer season and decided to show off out summer holiday makeup! Now I don't know about Melissa, but when I am traveling, especially to places where it is super hot, I will try to put on some makeup but keep it as light as possible.... so today I am showing you two versions of my Summer Holiday Makeup with the Two Dashes of Glam challenge!

This summer I went to New York City and Boston, because I got invited to my cousin's wedding. In case you want to read about it a bit more, go here! I had such an amazing time in both cities, and saying goodbye to each one of them was so hard. Now during my time in Boston there was a long heat wave going on, and summers in the City are known to be very... hot. So I came prepared. I only packed things I needed: loads of sunscreen, different lipsticks (dark red, red, pink), eyeliner, mascara, one highlighter, a trio Sleek blush and one eyeshadow palette. I had to do with these items for three weeks! It really was not a huge challenge, because who feels like melting their face off during hot season? Not me!

For the three weeks I stayed on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean I had my two go-to looks. We woke up early in the morning and my makeup had to last well throughout the day, so I did not want to think too much about it. On days that I was rushing or simply was not in the mood for a lot of makeup, I chose to only wear mascara (Lash Princess by Essence), highlighting eyeshadow (Tarte Palette) in the inner-V of my eyes and a soft pink lipstick (By Terry). That was it. Oh, no wait. I also wore concealer (Bobbi Brown). Gotta pretend I am not tired, ha! Of course I was also wearing face cream and plenty of SPF! The picture on the left is what I typically looked like. Especially on the hottest days!

On the right you can see that I have added foundation to even out my skin a bit more, more eyeshadows, the good ole' eyeliner (by Sephora), and highlighter! Oh yeah, I often wore my dark red lipstick ("Disturbed" by Urban Decay).  So this was my go-to beauty look on days in which I bothered a bit more! Still pretty light, right?

I fell back in love with the choker that I am wearing... I got it especially for the previous Two Dashes of Glam challenge, then forgot to wear it when I took the picture, but I've been wearing it non-stop after that, haha. Also, in case you didn't immediately notice... I've got green hair! What do you think? Oh well, now it is Melissa's turn! I wonder how she interpreted her Summer Holiday Makeup look! She told me she went to Portugal, where it's pretty hot too, and so she also chose to go for makeup products that are light and can handle that heat well! I guess great minds think alike! Head on over to Melissa's blog to see the results, then tell me what you think of our Summer Holiday Looks! Also, does your makeup change when you go on holiday?

  3. It gets more easy and light the hotter it becomes, just like yours. Concealer, mascara, powder and a bold lip to glam everything up when it is "needed".
