The other night the always lovely Annebeth invited me to join her at the L'incroyable Blow Dry event hosted by Kérastase at the Laurent Patrick Salon. It was an evening filled with discovering new products by Kérastase (a wonderful hair care brand) and being pampered by the kind hair stylists at the salon. I also learned a thing or two about my own hair!
Unfortunately for all of us, we can't be blessed with everything. For me my hair is far from perfect, but I will take what I can get. I have very thin hair, and not a lot of density so at times it looks like I am balding - which is a wonderful feeling that any man or woman wants to experience. Yes. Wonderful. My hair is also very prone to tangle, and goes from being dry and course after washing it to greasy and greasy quite quickly. Let's not forget about the frizz. It is always there. But I am an easy-going girl, and I still love my jet-black hair no matter its undesirable flaws.
|refresh if you didn't get that (and I'm only joking ok, don't hate).|
Lucky for me though, my hair and my stylish methods were looked at and then a diagnosis was made of what my hair really needs. The expert lady told me my hair would best benefit from Kérastase's art of personalization: the combination of a concentrated formula targeting your primary hair needs with a booster to target your secondary hair need. In my case I got a concentrated formula to take care of my density problem, which was blended with a brilliance booster to make my hair radiate five times more than it usually does. And boy, did that work.
I think my hair has some regular shine of its own, but the booster really made a world of difference. My hair was glowing like crazy and I felt fabulous. Above you see how the concentrated formula is blended with the booster. You can figure out what your hair needs right here! The other concentrated formulas, besides density, are strength, shine and nutrition! And then there are four other boosters, besides the shine booster, namely the nutrition, reconstruction (slowing down hair breakage), density and discipline (frizz control) booster. So, after the diagnosis I got a nice hair washing, and head massage, and the Fusio-Dose was sprayed in my hair. A moment of complete and utter relaxation. That was so needed.
Then the wonderful hairdresser, also from the Netherlands like me so we immediately were chatty, asked me what kind of blow dry I wanted.. I told her the way I style my hair is usually quite sleek. It falls down around my face and I curl it slightly inward. I told her I wanted something different and that she could surprise me, and she chose to go with something more playful and I love it! To blow dry my hair a new Kérastase product was used: L'incroyable Blow Dry. It is described as "the perfect blowdry in a bottle". Apparently, most women don't want to add an aftercare product to their hair, because they are worried that the product will weigh their hair down (I can relate to this). And so Kérastase came up with a product that has optimal shapeability, zero stiffness and the ability to keep changing and restyling your hair without having to add more product. Wait, what, how?! Well, L'incroyable Blow Dry is reinforced by beeswax and elastic polymers that create flexible shape memory, so you can easily restyle your hair by using a little bit of heat. You can expect a full-scale review of this product coming up soon, but in the mean time... see below for the results!
I was really, but really really, happy with the results. Heck, my new hair style even made me feel glamorous. My hair is no longer flat on top and sleek down below, but it has more volume at the top and has an enormous amount of volume down below. I love that the hairdresser added soft curls and waves, because now my hair looks softer, and it even felt lighter! I mean, there is also no denying that my hair contains more glow after using that booster. My hair was shining like crazy (and still is as I am writing this). I will definitely be using the L'incroyable blow dry. I am going to check out Kérastase's density collection (because something must be done here), and my behind is going to a hair salon where they use Kérastase so I can get more boosters! I'm pretty much sold. What about you? Have you tried products by Kérastase before? And what kind of hair care does your hair need?
