I had written this post many weeks ago, but then I accidentally deleted it and could not retrieve it, so I was really bummed out about that.. and it took me this long to write it all down again. Le sigh. Unfortunately, some of the links I had previously selected are no longer available on the website, but I am still really excited about this post. I selected four holiday outfits for the upcoming festivities to provide those in need with some (last-minute) inspiration. I love the outfits, because I would wear them myself.. heck, I will wear one outfit myself!
All the outfits I put together could be worn for either Christmas or New Year's Eve, because there is a bit of sparkle and a bit of class in each of the outfits.. but one may be more classy and the other more cool, so it all depends on your style! Here are my four holiday outfits: Classy in Pink & Gold, Comfortably Cool, Rocking in Earth Tones, and Modern Twist in Green!
This pink dress is something that I have been wanting to get for a while now, though last year I found the same in green! I love both colors.. but I love the shape even more. It just is very classy and especially flattering for most body types! Rather than going for a typical red dress, I thought pink would be more fun! I combined the dress with golden and black accessories to add to the glamorous feel: gorgeous golden pumps from Steve Madden, statement rings from New Look and some glitter with this clutch from River Island!
After glamorous and classy, I went for cool tones and comfort. One can still look rather glamorous whilst wearing flats (aka feeling much more comfortable) when combining it with the right items. I chose the simple-looking but very pretty ballet flats in a glam patent leather material from Steve Madden. A soft and flowing dress like this one from Esprit will do the trick! It also has an A-line (very flattering!) with a fitting body and a flowing bottom. You also get a nice waist due to the band in the middle. The blue shade feels very special and appropriate for festive occasions, so why not stick with cool tones? I combined it with a chunky glittery clutch in silver and a clear crystal leaf necklace from New Look. I could surely go all night with an outfit like this!
From cool to earth tones and from comfort to rocker chique: this look is probably one that I will wear myself. Heck, I bought this pretty camisole top with a deep cut on the back, glitters and thin straps myself! I found it at River Island and got a 50% discount on it! If you are lucky, you can still find it in the stores. I really loved the color of the cami, so I created the whole look around this item. I wanted to wear similar colors without it being too much, so I opted for one dark red statement ring combined with a thin ring as a contrast, and I also chose a dark red structured tote bag from New Look. Instead of going for a clutch or crossbody bag, I thought a big bag would look work better with this look... and more stuff fits in there! A simple short, black skirt came to my mind immediately, and I have one from H&M so I added that in here as well. I went for a bit of comfort, but mostly looking bad-ass with these cool suede fashion booties from Esprit! The coat metallic block heel makes the boots slightly edgier and in tune with the rest of the outfit, but most ankle boots will do the trick!
If you don't feel like wearing a dress or a skirt -something I can completely understand- then this might be a look worth considering. It is still quite classy, but has a modern twist to it! This outfit revolves around the top for me again! This gorgeous green long top comes from River Island and it has an asymmetrical cut on the bottom and golden details around the tight-fitting neck. I am not too sure if this one is still in stores, but I will find out for myself .. because I am really loving the top. I paired it off with a basic item I already own, from H&M again: clean black skinny jeans! What's not to love there? Strappy heels are gorgeous and sexy, so I opted for a pair from River Island, but my own come from Zara! Some golden accessories to match with the neck and add some class: the green-golden statement ring comes from the same package as the black-golden statement rings in the first look! I actually think the combination of this glamorous green goes well with dark red, so I chose a big and very pretty dark red flower clutch to go with it! There you have it: my version of a modern twist.
Well, these were the four holiday looks I created for the upcoming festivities. My apologies that some links are no longer provided and that you can no longer enjoy the nice discounts I had found. I am considering backing up my long articles for future purposes. Anywho, what do you think of the four different outfits? Are they looks you would wear yourself? I would certainly wear each one myself :-) and I probably will end up wearing something very similar to the third and fourth look. What about you? What are you wearing this Christmas and NYE?
