It is time again for another round of Two Dashes of Glam! The lovely-as-always Melissa, from KissandMakeupBeautyBlog, and I put our heads together and we came out with the same thoughts! We wanted to be inspired by a celebrity and immediately we thought of Taylor Swift. We decided to no longer think together, to keep our beauty inspired look a surprise as we usually do!
I was struggling a bit with picking a definite look, because there were many different looks that I liked, but loads of them were too similar for me. I mean, Taylor Swift has loads of eyeliner/smokey eyes and (dark) red lips or loads of princess-y soft dreamy looks in her video clips. One look that definitely stands apart is in her video clip of "Bad Blood", but I did not think that look would work with my eye shape and, especially, my eyebrows. So eventually I opted for one of her looks from the video clip "Blank Space".
The picture above is the only thing I used for my look, because I wanted it to inspire me so that I could adapt it to my face. I chose to use a sparklier silver eyeshadow on my eyelids and the smokeyness in the outer-V goes from silver to somewhat brown (because of my brown skin) to a black shade from my Sleek palette. Another noticeable difference is the eyeliner. In her outer-V the eyeliner becomes more like a hook-shape, whereas I kept mine more straight rather than rounded. I thought this would look nicer on me. I used a matte red lipstick in Russian Red by MAC and added a red lip gloss in the middle by Inglot. I noticed that the eye pencil used on her low lash line moves away from her inner-V, so I tried to recreate this slightly and I added some sparkling silver eyeshadow on top of it.
Unfortunately, I had to take these pictures in the evening and I only have yellow lights, so the colors look slightly different. I am actually thinking of getting that lamp Melissa was so positive about! Speaking of Melissa... are you curious about her look? She went for an old school Taylor Swift look and got inspired by her "Our Song" video clip! Yup, she went for the princess-y look. Melissa as a princess? Can't wait to see this: click here!
