Dove Derma Spa | Goodness³ Body Oil

Dove conducted a research about how women think about body care. Apparently, only 4% considered body care to be part of their daily "me time" activities (I guess I am not one of them). Dove aims to inspire women to appreciate their beauty and feel comfortable in their own hydrated skin by changing their body care routines and making it part of their me time. For this purpose Dove created a new "Dove Derma Spa" collection.

The new collection consists of four different product ranges, each designed for different skin types, beauty benefits and pampering needs: Goodness³, Uplifted+, Youthful Vitality and Summer Revived. It is true that I myself could and should spend more time on nourishing and hydrating my body, especially my legs are neglected. So with this new challenge on my mind I decided to try out a product from the Dove Derma Spa Goodness³ range.

Goodness³ is a body care collection that combines omega oil (known for its regenerating effect) with Cell Moisturizers to ensure that the skin is thoroughly hydrated. This range consists of four products: Goodness ³ Body Lotion, Goodness³ Body Oil, Goodness³ Body Cream and Goodness³ Indulgent Hand Cream. The focus quite clearly lies on cherishing and nourishing one's skin. I got the silky body oil that comes in a simple but pretty plastic tube. The oil is golden and seems to have a lot of shimmer at first sight, probably to give the appearance of luminous skin. This would be an added bonus next to all the hydrating components.

Upon opening the tube its rich perfume is released. It smells fresh and fruity, almost like an apple! The small hole on top allows for easy and measured release of the golden body oil. This is good, because I am clumsy and do not feel like worrying about getting oil everywhere early in the morning when I am still half asleep. Actually, it is quite noticeable that the oil is a bit thick in consistency, so it won't run along quite easily. This helps too! I really love the color the body oil has. It looks attractive and like something I want to put on my body. Gold glitters. So glamorous. Yup. Always does the trick. I used to use a body cream by Dove that had body glitters in it as well. Guess I am a simple girl!

It is made for dry skin, but people with normal skin can also use this product to stay hydrated during the winter! Because the oil is a bit thicker in consistency, it seems like I need to use more of the product on my body. The body oil does spread out easily enough after rubbing it a bit in my hands, so maybe that is just in my head. In order to ensure a spa experience I really took my time in the mornings after showering. I usually like to take it slow, anyways, but I still do not give a lot of thought to my body care, so it took some getting used to. Normally I am just rubbing on some cream or body oil in the bathroom, but now I actually took a moment to sit down in my bedroom and just focus on rubbing in the oil. Mindfulness, or something.

Here is a picture of what the body oil looks like on my skin (before and after rubbing it in). On the second picture I left the right side of my skin oil free, so you see that there is a definite shine missing on that side. This is basically the result that the body oil gives (besides the nice scent) and your skin will feel smoother and softer. The shine and scent will remain for a couple of hours, but will eventually fade. The Goodness³ Body Oil contains 150 ml of product for € 9,99, which -to me- is a bit on the expensive side but it might be worth it if you like that little spa moment for yourself. The four different Dove Derma Spa collections are available in Belgium since August, so be sure to check them out and get your skin ready for the winter! I would love to know if you have tried products from the other ranges? If so, tell me what you think!

  1. I used to use the DOVE firming line, but I changed to other products a few years back and since never tried anything. I just wasn't vowed by the effect or the ingredient list, I guess.

    1. Hm, would a firming product really work with just topical use?

  6. Sounds alright! I'm personally more excited about the self-tanning body lotion 2.0 though.
