Kruidvat is one of those shops that I always walk in when I pass by (unless my boyfriend is not in the mood for it), because I like looking at what discounts there are and if I see a nice nail polish by Catrice or Essence. In a nutshell, it is a great place for budget beauty and (skin/hair)care-related products! When I found out that Kruidvat has launched its own shower and bath products I was intrigued!
Spa Secrets is a luxurious spa and wellness collection that ensures you can pamper yourself and take care of your body in the comfort of your own home! The products are all inspired by traditional and authentic shower and bath rituals from mystical and exotic locations in the world. So far there are three collections: Treasures of Morocco, Traditions of Japan, and Miracles of Bali. In this article, I will be writing about three products from the first collection, namely the shower foam, body oil and sugar body scrub!
Treasures of Morocco uses the colors red, gold and black, and is inspired by the hammam beauty and cleansing ritual. It uses rich oils and delicate flower extracts. To be specific, you will find argan oil and rosewater extracts in this collection. The argan oil will cleanse your skin and protect it against the wind and bright sun, and the rosewater is mild and soothing to the skin.
The shower foam reminds me of the Ritual shower foams, but lucky us... this one will be far less expensive! If you press out the shower gel it quickly turns into soft foam once it comes into contact with air/water. I really love this type of product, because it is new and different from the regular shower lotions. This shower foam really has a strong scent that instantly reminds me of perfume. It is like I am smelling a strong perfume. The scent lingers on your skin for a long time after showering too! So if you are a fan of a strong scent, then I definitely recommend this shower foam! You only pay €3,99 for 200 ml!
The body oil has a similar scent to the foam (doh) but it is more subtle and much more pleasant to my nose. This product is great for dry skin, which means my legs, but it does the trick just fine too on normal skin! It is not too oily, but is absorbed by the skin quickly enough so it should not rub off on your clothes (unless you are using too much). I really like how it hydrates my skin without being sticky or even too shiny, and the scent it leaves behind is lovely. Every now and then I catch myself smelling my arms... totally not weird. For 250 ml of body oil you will pay €4,99.
The sugar body scrub has a heavy scent like the shower foam too, but once you take the product out of its holder and massage it on to your body the scent becomes more subtle. I like that the scrub is made of sugar granules, rather than sand grains, because they feel different when rubbing it in. It is a pretty big jar and you have to use your hands to get the scrub out, or you could use a spoon if you want to be more hygienic as the opening is big enough.. so I do not mind the jar at all! It contains 250 ml of product and costs €4,99!
Besides the shower foam, body oil, and sugar body scrub, the Treasures of Morocco collection also contains a shower cream (€2,99) and a hand cream (€2,99)! It is the most extensive collection of the three so far, with five products. The other two collections contain four products for now. All three collections are not only from different parts of the world, but also have completely different kinds of products... so you will get a unique experience with each of the Spa Secrets collection! Treasures or Morocco has the heaviest scent, Traditions of Japan has the freshest scent, and Miracles of Bali has the sweetest scent.. so maybe that can help you out a bit! I am really enjoying the Treasures of Morocco collection and I love the scent of the body oil and sugar body scrub. I do think the scent of the shower foam is a bit too heavy for my personal liking, but that is because I am used to more sweeter shower gels! I think it is great that Kruidvat has come up with Spa Secrets, because you get budget-friendly shower and bath products that do not look cheap at all! The design of Spa Secret is great and I love how each collection uses a different golden symbol and how they all have the pretty diamond shapes on each product. Tip: the Spa Secret is a great collection to give as a gift, because it looks great, it works great and it will not cost you a ridiculous amount of money! What do you think? Will you be trying out a product from the Spa Secret collections too?
