There is this streetwear clothing store in Antwerp called The Public Image that sells less mainstream clothing that one can find on the Meir (big shopping street). Besides clothing, the shop also sells the wonderful lipsticks by MDMflow: a unique urban lipstick brand made by Florence from England. When I read that TPI would be hosting a beauty takeover with Florence of MDMflow presenting her new lipsticks... I just knew I had to be there!
Nele Moens, the owner of TPI, went all out and organized a fun day and evening. You could get your nails and your hair done, then there was also the option to get a beauty makeover. Next to these fun activities you could also look around the shop and purchase anything you like there. There was plenty of free drinks and snacks so the whole beauty event was set up greatly. I was glad I joined!
Upon entering I noticed how Izzy, the nail artist, was working on the nails of a girl. There were about eight designs you could choose from and they all looked unique with a special design on them. Then Hoodrat was braiding the hair of Nele when I walked in. I thought it was rather impressive. I do not know how much she braided on that day.. but they were all busy from 11 in the morning until 9 in the evening. Damn. With pretty nails and braided hair.. it was time to turn to Florence from MDMflow. She gave the ladies bright lippies and alluring eyes. It was fun to see!
I was unable to stay for a long time, because I was supposed to be studying for a Spanish exam... but I came back later at night to have a drink with some friends and chat a bit. I enjoyed the laid-back atmosphere and, later on, as the night ended.. I saw that the event broke out in a party! Good stuff.
Before I left, I made sure to get a photo of me and Florence.. and of course, I was wearing my favorite lipstick by MDMflow: Von Dutch! I also purchased "Von Dutch" for my younger sister, who seems to love it as much as I do.. and I bought a new lippie for myself: "Milkshake"... I will tell you more about that soon! It was a great deal actually.. 2 lipsticks for €20 (they normally cost €20 a piece), so I was quite happy about that. If you want to know more about streetwear or the urban lipstick brand, then be sure to take a look at The Public Image, found at Wijngaardstraat 16 in Antwerp, Belgium. What do you think about streetwear? Would you like to get cool braids too?
