Have you heard of the Savvyist already? It is an online beauty community where you can discover swatches on different skin tones and types, where you can read reviews by bloggers from all over the world, where you can participate in challenges and upload your own beauty looks, and, even better, where you can discover your beauty guru!
Sometimes you just do not know whether you should get that new blush or if that bright lipstick will suit you too, so you may want to read reviews and look at swatches by bloggers you follow or who have a similar skin type to yours. This is where the Savvyist makes things easier for you. It is a beauty look book that collects as much information as possible about popular products, so you can get all that information with one glance. Here's an example of Nars Torrid:
It really functions as a community, because lots of make up lovers have joined and are sharing their own looks and creations with you. You can heart and comment on their pictures, in which the products they have been using are also displayed.. in case you want to recreate the look! You can add your own thoughts and comments to specific products, or upload your whole review.
Another fun aspect is that you can partake in bi-weekly make up challenges! How cool is that? After the end of each challenge there is a poll that lets you vote on what the next theme should be. I actually participated in the first challenge and thanks to lots of my lovely readers, I was able to win a third place. Thank you so much to everyone who voted :) Check out Melissa who won twice!
My favorite aspect of Savvyist is not even everything I just mentioned, but the Beauty Guru Match. What is that, you ask?! Well, based on your skin type, color and your eyes Savvyist can find your Beauty Guru Match. This means someone with the same features who is also a blogger, so that you can use their blog, reviews, looks, and whatnot as a guide for when you are curious about a product or are unable to make up your mind! How brilliant is that?! I have always thought that colored ladies are a bit underrepresented in the beauty blogosphere and Savvyist makes it easier for you to get in touch with someone you can relate to! I was so excited when I was made a Beauty Guru on Savvyist. I felt so honored.. and hopefully girls with similar features as mine will find my reviews, looks, and whatnots helpful and interesting!
As a beauty lover I am really happy with the up-and-coming beauty community created by Savvyist and I look forward to all the good things that are still to come. I am happy I get to be a part of it and look forward to see how it will grow. There is so much more to the Savvyist, but you should discover that by yourself, so take a look and tell me what you think! You can find me here.
