I know. I know. We are well into January 2015 and the year 2014 already feels like such a long time ago, especially when this month is filled with stress of exams, deadlines, and whatnots. I hope everyone is doing fine and I wish you lots of luck if you are suffering like me! While you are suffering (or enjoying your life, also a possibility, aye), be sure to take a look at my favorites of 2014!
I had a really hard time cutting down to my most favorite products, so my 2014 list of favorites is a heck load longer than that of 2013! Bare with me, though. I am sure it will be worth your time! The first one on the list (but not necessarily the best one; it is all selected randomly) is my urban and unique lipstick called "Von Dutch" by MDMflow. I have never tried such a beautiful, unique and bold orange lip product before. Unapologetically orange. That is the right description for "Von Dutch".
A product that goes hand in hand with the aforementioned lipstick is "Cha Cha Tint" by Benefit. It is a mango-tinted lip and cheek stain that I love to apply to my cheeks when wearing that lipstick. It creates this awesome orange look that just is wonderful. Ok. Lots of self love going on here... I am sorry. I am just super excited about these products. It is why they are on the list! One should worry about not looking too orange, though.. but having a brown-toned skin I am less concerned with that.
If you have been actively following my blog, then you know that I am raving about my new coffee machine. It is called Oblo and comes from the brand Dolce Gusto. I have devoted a long article to it, so if you are curious I suggest you go there. I have started drinking much more coffee ever since I bought the coffee machine (oh-oh), but I like that I can do it in the comfort of my own home without always spending that much money.
A product that caught me by surprise was the W7 In the Night palette, because it looked rather cheap and I tend to be a bit apprehensive about cheap eyeshadows. However, each color in this palette gave off a lot of product and pigment. What has made me really excited is the color "Wonderland", which is a beautiful gold rose shade on my skin. I just love that color!
Now I am a huge fan of Urban Decay. In my opinion, they have one of the best eyeshadow products that are worth the money (and if you think about it, they are really not that expensive per single eyeshadow when you end up paying a whole lot more for high-end brands).. I mean, you just get so much damn pigment and high-quality! Still I had never really tried their eye pencils, so when my sister went to New York I asked her if she wanted to bring back the Ocho Loco 2 24-7 Glide-On Eye Pencil Set with her. I am so happy she did, because these eye pencils are just so beautiful!
Speaking of Urban Decay. When Naked 3 came out I was really excited, because it contained all pink-hued eyeshadows and that was very different from Naked 1 or 2. I also loved the rose-gold case, so I could not wait to get my hands on them. When I did.. it surely did not disappoint. There are so many amazing shades in here and I use this palette all the time when I am going for a soft and romantic look.
My favorite food discovery of 2014 was this Thai Chicken Salad that I created myself by playing around with existing recipes, whatever I had lying around in my house, and some flavors that I love. I usually do not get great results when putting my own spin on dishes, but this one turned out amazingly. It was so fresh, but sweet and spicy at the same time. Hm. It is actually making me hungry right now... I should write about something else now.
I love wearing lipstick. So I am sure it is not a surprise to find more than one favorite lipstick in here. After all, it is my favorite makeup product! I had heard of "Heroine" by MAC when they came back as a fan favorite lipstick, but alas... as with many of MAC's popular products.. it was sold out when I went to try it. Lucky for me, a friend of mine bought it for my birthday.. and it instantly became a favorite color to wear. A purple shade that seems edgy, but is so wearable.
That I love Bobbi Brown should not come as a surprise. It is part of my basic products and daily looks. This is also the case for the two Sparkle Eyeshadows: "Cement" and "Sunlight". These eyeshadows may be expensive, but I just love the subtle and beautiful glow it can give to your look. Well, is that worth the money? That depends on the person, I'd say. I bought these beauties with gift money, so that made it more accessible for me.. and definitely worth it! I should start saving up if I want more, though!
So, I am officially hungry. That is why I will end this article with my healthy salmon burger recipe that I put together. I had never had salmon burgers before (or any fish burgers, for that matter) and I wanted something healthy and quick (unfortunately, it is not quick haha) and this is what came out. The salmon burgers were soft, fresh and very filling. Perfect to go with sweet potato fries! Well, on that note.. I am going to rummage around my kitchen and see if there is anything decent to eat.
Oh, wait! Tell me first... what do you think of my list? Have any of these products made you curious too? Or can I find them in your favorites (of whenever) too?! I'd love to know more!
