Delving into "Ocho Loco 2"

Urban Decay Ocho Loco 2

Last week I shared an article about the limited Ocho Loco 2  24-7 Glide-On eye pencil set, today I would like to share a couple of looks I made with the intensely pigmented eye pencils. So, forget the small talk.. and let's take a look!

The first look I made was with Ultraviolet. Alright, alright. I would not exactly call this a look as I am only wearing eye pencils and mascara on my face, but I cannot be bothered with wearing foundation, concealer and the likes, everyday. This was one of those days. With a crazy intense color like Ultraviolet one does not even need to, because it demands all the attention, anyways. It may be called Ultraviolet, but I see no purple in it when wearing this color. The eye pencils are all very buttery so if you give enough pressure a lot of color will come off with just one swipe. The color wore well throughout the day, so I think this baby will become a product that I will turn to quite regularly.

The second look was very traditional. Soft face, thick eyeliner and dark full lips. The eye pencil is called Perversion. What a name. I was in a bit of a rush when taking pictures, so I could not get a clearer shot of the close-up but trust me when I say this is the darkest and deepest shade of black I have ever had. With eyeliners, the line can end up looking really harsh, but with this eyeliner it looked intense and soft. It has a matte finish, which may attribute to the soft appearance. Lucky for you, and me as well, this color is not limited so you can get it without this set as well! It wore well throughout the day (a bit longer than the previous one), no complaints whatsoever.

For the third look I combined Roach with Tornado. On my lower lid I applied Roach, which is a medium brown shade, with golden shimmers. No worries, below there is another look with this color in which you will see Roach more clearly. Tornado is absolutely beautiful. It is a dark purple with a soft shimmer. On my skin tone, the color blends in well making it appear more subtle rather than hard. I absolutely love this. This is another keeper!

I love playing with green. I have a lot of green eyeshadows, so the looks can end up looking the same. That is why I decided to switch it up a bit. When I do a duo-eyeliner on the upper eye lid, I would do black (or a dark color) first then green above it, but now I thought it would be fun to do it the other way around. I like the result. It makes the eyes very dramatic with just two eye pencils. The metallic and extremely shimmery green is called Mars and the very dark and deep brown is called Twice Baked. I had not expected it would look so close to being a dark grey/soft black color on my eyelids. Twice Baked is a matte color, by the way! This look, too, lasted all day. The durability is becoming kind of predictable, hm?!

Then you have my final look. I actually added a close-up of Twice Baked + Deep End and of Roach + Deep End. The first two close-ups (of which the full face picture is on the left) has Roach on the upper eye lid, with a bit of Twice Baked in the outer-V because I needed to emphasize it a bit more. The third close-up has Twice Baked on the upper eyelid, which as you can see, is much darker brown, a very rich color with lots of golden sparkles. Deep End is an aqua-blue (mermaid!!) color with a heck load of shine. You need only apply once to get a lot of color. I did not press a lot, because I wanted a thin line.

There you go! It was a lot of fun playing with these colors and I look forward to keep doing so! Each color really wore well throughout the day between 8-10 hours, so you do not have to worry about it fading away while at work or when dancing the night away. The eye pencils have this buttery texture, which makes it harder to get nice tight lines, especially towards the outer-V, but it also means that you get so much pigment with just one layer. Which look would you wear yourself?

  1. Damn wat ben je een eyeliner guru! Zo'n mooie wing. En ik vind de Mars echt geweldig. En die laatste look... stunning!

Welke mascara gebruik je trouwens? Zo'n lange winpers!

Gewoon uit nieuwsgierigheid :-) Hope you don't mind me asking!

    1. Dank je ^^ it really is! Haha, maakt niet uit hoor. Dat zijn gewoon pigmentvlekjes. Daar hebben mensen met een donkerdere huid wat sneller last van.

  6. Great looks, Natasja! Did I see you with Twice Baked and Deep End the other day? You're luck that Perversion lasts on you! It's a smudgy mess on me! I can only wear UD pencils on my lower lash line, since they don't hold up on my upper lash line. Oily eye problems ;)

    1. Thank you so much, Shayne! Aw, well that's also photo magic. My camera tends to make my skin look softer than it really is lol. Mars definitely is a beauty.. it will be fun incorporating that in looks. Let's hope I don't just go back to basic looks xD but am a bit more creative with it!
