I really wanted to talk about these products separately, but now that I have three I might as well make a big post out of it. Do not know what I am talking about? Well, get ready for some amazing lip products all the way from the other side of the Atlantic Ocean!
Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics, OCC, is an American make up brand that started out with a pair of lip balms, grew into skin care, nail lacquer, and then the famous Lip Tars were created. OCC is unique because it creates the most amazing and heavily pigmented colors, whilst being 100% vegan and cruelty-free. And I will be sharing three lip tars with you!
Their lip tars are liquid lipsticks that come in small tubes together with a lip brush for easy application. The colors are so crazily pigmented that you only need a drop of lipstick to work with, so the fact that they come in very small tubes should not bother you! You will use it for such a long time, anyways. The lip tars consist of four different collections: clear, stained gloss, matte and metallic. My lip tars are from the last two collections. The two lip tars from the metallic line are called: "Black Metal Dahlia" and "Role Play". The lip tar from the matte line is called "Stalker". All the names sound kind of dark, grungy and a tad bit sexy (OK, there is nothing sexy about a stalker, I definitely agree!). Heck, it reminds me a bit of vampires and I really wanted to go for deep and dark red colors! Here is an overview of each color separately:
Black Metal Dahlia is a blackened burgundy with red pearl added to it that gives off a metallic shine. There is a lot of purple and red in here and I love it. It is not exactly wearable for a day in the office, but for the more fancy or edgy looks, this will work beautifully!
Role Play is a deep maroon lip tar in the tube with red pearls in it again that create the metallic shine. It looks like a bloody red brownish (with purple in there) color that is mesmerizing. A tad bit more wearable than the previous lip tar and it will surely catch people's attention!
Stalker seems to be the most wearable lip tar; it is blue-red shade and seems like a really deep color. I think it is the most wearable one, because it is a simple and classy red lipstick that everyone should own. This would work well for a classy day at the office (or anywhere else).
After swatching the colors on my arm I realized that some are not the color I expected them to be (like they look in the tube). The lip tars are easy to swatch on the arm because they are liquid lipsticks and they all give off a lot of shine:
Stalker really is a typical red lipstick and I think it is absolutely beautiful. It is also the one my cousin from New York got me in her big beauty box. I would not have automatically chosen this color myself, because I own a lot of red lipsticks in this shade but it is such a beauty and I am so happy I have it. Role Play turned out to be the most watery of the three, so it gave off less pigment than I had expected. Maybe I should shake it a bit next time. On my arm it became a soft pink reddish color with a red shimmer. Black Metal Dahlia pretty much stays similar to what I expected by looking at the tube.

It takes some getting used to to apply the lip tars, because I do not usually use a lip brush but other than that it is great. A little bit of product goes a long way and you really do not need to reapply (as you can see from the swatches). The lip tars stay on throughout the day, but after dinner and drinks the color comes off but leaves a beautiful stain behind. Black Metal Dahlia became a lot darker on my lips, from far away it seems browner, but when you look at the close up the purpleness becomes clear! I applied several layers of Role Play, because it was more watery than expected, but I am in love with the end result as well! I do not think I can pick a favorite shade from these three, because they are all very different and can be used for different occasions, so I am not picking a favorite. Which do you like the most? All the lip tars contain 0.33 oz of product, organic hemp oil and soy-derived vitamin E. Other than that, it is paraben free and has peppermint oil in it. The OCC lip tars are sold for $18 on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean and, unfortunately for us, I have no idea where to get them in Europe. Do you know?
