Once upon a time, when shopping, I came across some beauty products by Calvin Klein. I do not really care much for the brand, but I was curious enough (err, it does not take a lot) and not expensive at all, so I thought... let me just buy them and try them!
I am pretty sure everyone knows Calvin Klein, at least, as a perfume brand (I really love "Eternity") or if you do not know the perfumes.. then you must know the gorgeous underwear models? The brand also makes make up! I bought a pinkish lipgloss called "african violet" and a brown eyeshadow called "retro bronze", both products come in a little pot.
The fact that they come in little pots does not bother me with the eyeshadow, but I do find it inconvenient with the lip gloss. The colors are not what I expected at all. I had hoped the lip gloss would be more pigmented. I mean, it is called "African Violet" so where is the violet when swatching it? It is super pale or simply transparant on my skin. This is a total bummer! The only positive thing I can tell you about this lip gloss is that it has a very pleasant scent. I thought "retro bronze" would look boring, because I have so many brown-golden-nude toned eyeshadows, so I do not get surprised that often anymore. However, I love the soft metallic glimmer in this eyeshadow and it looked really great when applied to my eyes as well.
Above you can see two looks with the products. On the left I wore my lovely "Nude-Ist" by Bourois Paris on the lips and on the right you have the boring lip gloss. On all pictures, I am wearing a pink shade from Naked 3 in my inner-V of my eyes and "Retro Bronze" in the outer-V as well as the lower lash line. It is obvious, the lip gloss disappointed me, but the eyeshadow really caught me by surprise. I will definitely be using that more often. It stayed on my eyes throughout the day (slightly lessening) with a primer underneath, which is great for such an inexpensive product. I do not know the exact prices anymore, but I found both these products at the Blokker for only a couple of euros! What do you think? Are you OK with such a transparent lip gloss? And what about the eyeshadow?
