Yves Rocher Cherry Oil Lipsticks

Yves Rocher Cherry Oil Lipsticks

Did you know Yves Rocher has created a new lipstick line containing cherry oil? This is brand new and never done before by Yves Rocher, so I was very eager to share the new lipsticks with you! Click ahead to discover three colors from the Cherry Oil Lipsticks.

Yves Rocher is a French company that is well-known all around the world for its vegetal (cosmetic) products. The Cherry Oil Lipsticks come in 12 colors that are all inspired on colors from nature. Apparently, the cherry oil has the ability to break down light, contains Omega 6 & 9 (those have a nourishing and protective effect), and the formula will melt into your lips. All of this creates an intense shine on one's lips. Well, that sounds pretty good to me.

Yves Rocher Cherry Oil Lipsticks Swatches

The Cherry Oil Lipsticks come in a red and silver lipstick holder and the cap is red and see-through. The colors remind me of the color of cherries, so I find that a nice link! The shape of the cap is rather unique and that pleases me as well. The bit of pointy top adds some elegance to the cap (even if it is see-through). The three lipsticks that I am reviewing are the following: Miel Doré (11), Tangerine (61) and Rouge Grosielle (51). I took a quick swatch on my arm and it is clear that all three colors have a very sheer and shiny color, so it is time to take a closer look at each color!

Miel Doré Yves Rocher Cherry Oil Lipstick

The first one, "Miel Doré", is a brown lipstick in the holder but becomes extremely sheer and shiny on the skin and lips. The name of the lipstick means "golden honey" and this is obviously linked with the color. There is a slight light brown color available but most of the product is the golden shine. With more applications the lipstick becomes slightly darker and has an even more intense shine. My first thought was that this would work as an interesting nude for me. The application was smooth, but the color on my lips was very subtle (unless I applied three layers).

Yves Rocher Cherry Oil Lipstick Tangerine

This lipstick is called "Tangerine" so it makes sense that it is orange colored! The color is really bright in the holder and I wondered about how hard this color would be on my skin, but it was surprisingly soft. The silver shimmer adds some sparkle and the orange becomes sheer so it is not hard at all. The more you apply the stronger the color becomes, but it does not seem too hard. What an amazing color for spring and summer, isn't it? The application was fine, but this color left some open/sheerer spots on my lips as you can see from the close-up photo below.

Yves Rocher Cherry Oil Lipstick Rouge Groseille

The last lipstick is called "Rouge Groseille", which means red currant, and at first glance it looks like a typical red lipstick. After application there is a soft silver shimmer in there as well and the redness is extremely soft just like with "Tangerine". I really love this! I mean, I have so many red lipsticks but I did not have one that is as sheer and soft as this one. It gives off enough product to make the lips red and shiny, but it looks much softer. This is also a nice switch from just bold and bright colors (during spring and summer) that are really hard on the face. The application for this lipstick was the best out of the three!

The colors are all very sheer and soft, even if the latter two lipsticks give off quite some pigment, the vibe remains soft and romantic, which I like a lot. They all have a wonderful scent and I am sure you can guess it: they smell like cherries! The scent slightly lingers on my lips after application. The lipsticks will need to be reapplied after several hours, which will depend on your mouth's activities (drinking and eating, of course). I was able to go a good two to three hours, but after finishing a couple of glasses I would certainly need to reapply the lipstick and it will definitely not survive food. However, this was expected from a sheer lipstick and I do not mind reapplying something that feels nourishing to my lips. Funnily enough, the two darkest colors did leave behind a bit of a stain!

As you can see from the full face pictures, the lipsticks look a lot brighter on me when indoors, but that is also because I applied three layers (how typical, I was praising them for their sheerness and being different from my brighter lipsticks... then I go and apply three layers to make them brighter, doh)!! I really love Tangerine and Rouge Groseille, because they are both colors I did not have yet and they look rather good. I am not too sure about Miel Doré, though I do like it as a nude.. I am just not very used to wearing nude (such light brown) lipstick! Well, it is something for me to get used to! In each lipstick you will get 3,5 grams (0.12 oz) of product and you can buy it for €11,90. The Cherry Oil Lipsticks are currently available for €5,95! The (darker) colors are quite pigmented even if they are sheer, so I will definitely visit an Yves Rocher store to try out more colors.. and then buying them online (if the sale remains)! I saw a couple of beautiful coral and pink colors so I can not wait to test those! What about you? How do you feel about the Cherry Oil Lipsticks? And which of the three do you like the most?

    1. Misschien dat het komt door mijn donkerdere huid.. of omdat ik er zoveel lagen op heb gedaan.. but I like it ^_^

  4. Ik vind de lipsticks er niet superspannend uitzien zo op de close-up foto's, maar fullface vind ik vooral Tangerine en Rouge Groseille wel heel mooi bij je staan! Dat nude kleurtje kan je ook wel hebben trouwens!
