Let us start of with the basics. We are going to need sunscreen. Even if the sun is not that strong and the weather is not that hot the sun rays are doing their damage, anyways. There are several options for you to ensure your face is covered with SPF. You can either use sunscreen, a cream with SPF, a foundation with SPF, or you know.. all of the above. When it gets really hot you might consider switching from a cream and foundation to a BB-cream or CC-cream, because these are lighter than actual creams foundations but still give you an evenly blended face whilst nourishing your skin. So consider your options and make sure you use SPF!

When I think about spring and summer I instantly think of colors that pop! It does not matter whether the bright colors are on your eyes or on your lips as long as you make sure it is on one focal point (as explained in the transition to fall/winter article) because you do not want to look like a clown.
Wonderful colors to play around with during the warmer seasons (and if you are daring enough) are bright blue, orange and hot pink. You can apply these colors in many ways, but I will be focusing on two specific eye looks for spring/summer 2014. The first is spreading the color all across your eyelid into a sexy and vixen-like shape and making sure you keep the rest of your face as natural and nude as possible. This instantly draws all the attention to your eyes and only works during these seasons. The second look is more subtle, so more wearable, and is done by creating a beautiful (slightly) thick line under your waterline or on your eyelid as a cat-eye. The latter is a bit more dramatic, but still works really well as a wearable look.

I am a big fan of bright lipsticks and the warmer seasons are the time to bring out all of them! But let us focus especially so on hot pink lipstick, unapologetic orange or a pinkish coral one if you are less daring (and there is no shame in that!). These colors work perfectly fine as heavily pigmented lip losses too! As you may know, I own a beautiful orange lipstick by MDMflow that is absolutely perfect! I tend to wear these bright lip colors with a simple soft eyeliner or a dramatic cat eye and sometimes I will go for brownish/nude-looking eyes.

Summer time obviously calls for a beachy look! What does this entail? Natural make up and wavy hair! A beach babe look seems very casual, but usually lots of work goes into it. The main idea is to create soft wavy hair (or very loose curls) with some braids in there.
A look that is very similar to the beachy look or, well, goes perfectly with the beachy look is the bronzed beauty. To get that tanned or sunkissed look without actual help from the sun (because sun rays are bad for you, boo) you can play around with bronzer. The use of bronzer also contours your face so you can add a little depth where needed, but it can also work great as a blush or to just give you an extra glow. So have a look at golden and brown (maybe with a bit of pink in there colors)! Number 1 is beautifully used as a blush all the way from Jessica Alba's cheeks to her head. Number 2 is doing the same thing but also gives off more of a glow and the third picture shows you a bronzed face at its finest. Lots of shimmer and color, but be sure not to go overboard.. or it might end up looking like something went wrong at the tanning salon.
There you have it. We should all be ready to transition to the sunnier seasons of the year. Just keep in mind: wear sunscreen, do not be afraid to play with bold and bright colors whether they are on your eyes or lips - just not at the same time - and for a relaxed and casual look go for wavy hair and a bronzed face. As for me personally, I will definitely be implementing them all minus the bronzed beauty. What do you think? Are your beauty associations with spring and summer 2014 the same as mine? What are you definitely doing and what are you adding yourself?
