After having experienced a pink lip color that I was not so pleased with I wanted to share one that I am really loving right now. I am already a fan of Bourjois Paris' Rouge Edition (something I will address another time) but now Bourjois Paris has also created Rouge Edition Velvet!
When I was visiting the Louvre in Paris I had to walk by the different shops and see what was available. I saw a Douglas (a perfume and cosmetics store) and I just had to go in. I quickly looked around and noticed these new lip products that I had not seen before. The Rouge Edition Velvet look like lipsticks in a square-shaped tube until you open them. Then you notice the doe foot lipgloss applicator and when I take out the applicator a creamy texture appears on it. So this seems like a really cool hybrid lip product!
There are eight colors available in this collection, but I only allowed myself to buy one because I had my beauty box waiting at home and I really have no place for more make up, anyways! It was a hard choice, because I secretly wanted to try all the colors. I mean, it seems like such a cool product?! I ended up choosing number 7 called Nude-Ist. I would describe the color as a soft rosy pink with hints of violet in there when looking at the tube and the swatch on my arm, but when applied to my lips it becomes a bit brighter. Still it remains a very soft and sweet color. I do not think it is a nude color (obviously, right?!) but it certainly is a romantic color!
Remember when I wrote that the product seemed creamy on the applicator? When actually applying it to my lips it felt less creamy and more smooth. It is supposed to have a velvet and matte texture and this immediately becomes clear when you spread the product on your lips. At first Nude-Ist is smooth but quickly the product sets in and feels matte. One thing I did not like about this product is the smell. Whenever I remove the applicator from the tube it just has such an awful scent. There is no way around it. It is pretty bad. Luckily, this disappears after having applied the product to my lips. The liquid lipstick stays on throughout the day if you do not eat or drink anything at all, but this is quite hard. I obviously do not recommend that!!! With a few drinks in and a bite I started noticing the inner area of my lips (but not the rest) started to slightly fade away; this is no biggie but I wanted to reapply the product. This made me notice how drying it is after a couple of hours. So I definitely recommend using it with a lip balm or make sure your lips are not chapped!
Still, that is dries out my lips is something I expected from a product that will give my lips a matte texture, so I can overlook that. And there are measures I can take myself to keep my lips moisturized. I just really love the color of this product, its easy application and its long-lastingness. The Rouge Edition Velvet lip products are available for about €14 and contain 6,7 ml or 0.2 fl.oz. of product. I have been using it quite a bit now and it is a great color to wear with so many different beauty looks, due to the softness of the color. What do you think? Are you ready to get a Rouge Edition Velvet lip product as well? And what do you think of Nude-ist?
