|Fragile: pregnant and fabulous|
The Press Days for the 2014 fall and winter (in some cases it is for spring and summer) collection have taken place and it was very tiring, but lots of fun and I am happy to share all my insights of the up-and-coming collections and even newly discovered brands. It is always a good thing to learn more, right?
I joined four other girls for our long day filled with walking around in the sun and getting to know each other better. The brands and products I am sharing fall into the categories: beauty, fashion (accessories), and food. The first brand I am sharing with you all is Nee Make Up. I have written about this brand before, so you might remember that Nee Make Up is an exclusive brand free of parabens and it is not tested on animals. For the summer this beauty brand created the "A Rose in The Wild" line, which is inspired by cayenne pepper. From the cayenne Nee Make Up takes its soft orange color that borders on both pink and red. "A Rose in The Wild" contains a cream blush, matte lipstick, lip pencil, nail polish, body shimmer, bronze shimmer (for the face), eyeliner and eyepencil. With these products you can create a sensual look with soft cayenne-colored lips, nails and nude eyes with smudged eyepencil. I tested the products and I am especially in love with the lipstick and blush!
Sara Gies is a Belgian woman who created a jewelry brand with the same name. She has a shop in Antwerp and creates beautiful and rather exclusive designs with silver. Her current collection is called "Indian Summer" and was inspired by the ideas and feelings she associates with it, such as orange and flowers. The beautiful pieces of jewerly are all very delicate and feminine. I absolutely love how elegant and girly they look. If you are ever in Antwerp, be sure to visit Sara Gies.
I suppose lingerie is important for any girl, right? For some reason I always tend to go to the same shops, but now that I have discovered Passionata I would not mind trying out something new. The bras and underwear look good and are all quite colorful; something I like. Passionata designs their bras based on a "push-up scale" that has 4 intensities: pretty push, very push, crazy push, extra sexy push. This way you know what kind of push-up you need based on the occasion (from a regular day to a sexy night).
For lunch I had a macaron and it was very yummy. I had never tried one before, so it is not like I am an expert.. but when something is good it is good, you know? Amacarons wants to step away from the classic image that macarons have by presenting them in trendy and hip ways (see the macaron pyramid). Did you know you can even order them online?
Belgian cosmetic brand Odylique has luxurious care products, based on biological herbs and plant extracts, for an agreeable price. They focus on skin problems and I will not be writing too much about it now, because I am going to test a shampoo of Odylique, so I will write more about it later. Keeping you updated!
I have come across Dolly & Daisy a couple of times now and each time I look at the bags there is just so much to love. As you can see from the pictures below, this collection consists of lots of color with metallic in them. It is bright and really catches one's attention, so it is perfect if you want a statement bag (or clutch).
Turnover is crafted on principes (not trends) with the intention to create pieces that are balanced, modern and feminine. The 2014 fall and winter collection has simple and basic colors with a few stand-out pieces such as the blue, grey, golden, black (isn't it gorgeous?) coat on the left. You will find lots of two-sided knitted cardigans (meaning, you can wear them on both sides!!) and bold patterns on neutrally colored clothing. This way the products get a sleek and modern feeling without screaming for attention. I saw lots of pieces that I would not mind wearing myself, so I hope you find Turnover interesting as well!
Have you ever heard of Komono? I had not! It is another Belgian brand that sells watches and sunglasses. Now I was walking around in a big showroom and Komono caught my attention rightaway, because of its very hip and modern products. I also immediately thought of my boyfriend, because I like to get him products that are a bit more unique and do not look like they come from H&M (though most of my clothing does???). So, I already have a couple of possible gifts in mind for his birthday... I just hope he does not read this...
During the Press Days I was also invited to a workshop about Inglot. Everyone who is located in Belgium, listen up: Inglot is opening its first store in Hasselt, May 1st!! And with this opening the Polish beauty brand will also be available online soon! So even if you do not live in Hasselt, you can still order the products and try them out for yourself. Their palettes (which can be used for eyeshadows, lip products, blushes... so basically everything) are really great, because you can slide the see-through top off and then take it off completely. This makes it easy to just put the top away while you are using the palette (like an actual art palette) and when you are done you just place it on top. Well, euhh.. how does it not fall off? Because they are magnetic!! Brilliant, right?
This was the first part of the Press Days 2014 and I hope you found the products and brands interesting. You can epxect the second part on Monday with more amazing products... and a duckface picture. Really? Yes, really! Did you find something in there that caught your interest too? What would you like to know more about?
