Essie Blue Toned Nail Polishes

Where's my chauffeur | Butler please | Essie Nail Polish

Last time I showed you my red toned nail polishes by Essie, which are perfect for a holiday like Christmas or Valentine's Day (or any other occasion you desire) and today I would like to show you my blue toned nail polishes.

If you remember correctly (do not worry, I do not expect you to) then you will know my younger sister bought these pretties for me from the Big Bazar in the Netherlands. Another wise choice by her, do you not agree? The two blue toned nail polishes have quite funny names too. I am not sure if there is an actual link with the color, because I can not think of anything. Perhaps, it is linked to "blue blood", which means people of aristocratic descent (so, you know.. rich folks). Why do I think this? Well, the names seem quite demanding and like they (not actually the polish, but a person who would say this) can afford themselves a chauffeur of butler. Am I still making sense?

I am sure you catch my drift. Where's My Chauffeur is a beautiful turquoise mermaid-like color. I think the color looks really nice and is really nice for spring and definitely for summer. It instantly reminds me of those beautiful blue waters with white beaches that I can only dream about. I decided to combine the nail polishes by adding an accent nail like I did in the red toned nail polishes.

Now this shade of blue comes closer to what we know as "Royal Blue" and with a name as Butler Please, you can definitely see why it oozes class. Indoors the color becomes a deeper and darker blue but in direct contact with daylight you will notice that it has a soft glow to it. I like the combination of this color better with Where's My Chauffeur as an accent nail. Which do you prefer?

Both polishes, when applied, were more watery than expected. Still the application was fairly easy and a lot of product came off the brush. However, because it was a bit watery I needed a second layer of application to get the results you can see above. I believe that if I move it around enough that the product would mix better resulting in less watery nail polish. The nail polishes stayed on without chapping for at least three to four days (my hands have busy lives) and they were very easy to remove. I do love both colors, but if I had to choose.. I would go for Where's My Chauffeur because that color stands out more; plus, it reminds me of some exotic resort. 17. Aww I like both and I love the manis! I can't do any nail art, but I do like this accent nail thing :) I have a limited edition Dior shade called Saint-Tropez from two summers ago. It's kinda similar to Where's My Chauffeur. I still pull it out every summer, and the bottle is halfway through!!!

    1. Thank you :) I like to do nail art every now and then (less now than before due to lack of time) but I am not particularly good at it though.. it takes time and lots of practice. Things I lack right now haha. I love the name "Saint-Tropez" as it goes perfectly with the association that I have with the color!

  22. Since I don't put on nailpolish at all, I think I'm gonna prefer the lighter shade of color.. But it doesn't mean I'd use it. LOL.

    1. Well, you got me there. It's all about branding and good quality.. two things that Essie certainly has! So, I suppose that is what is "special" about it.

  27. I also love Where's My Chauffer? :) The blue-toned (maybe green?) polish that I reeeeeally want from Essie is Naughty Nautical!! And I love accent nails :)

I'm so happy to take a moment to visit your blog and comment, Natasja. You have so many great posts for me to catch up on!

  28. I love Essie, but in Belgium it's so pricey! I agree with you they are wattery, I have a shade similar to Where's My Chauffeur only paler and more green and I need to apply at least three coats. What I really like about essie is how many pretty pastels they have (I think that's where they excel) and how small the brush is.
