It was fun reading all of your well-educated guesses about which product from my huge beauty box I would review first! It was very smart to think I would go for the Urban Decay products first, because (yes) I am a big fan and they are very popular, but something different and rather big caught my eye from the start.
I chose the gift set by Tarte Cosmetics called "The Tarte of Giving" (I am so thankful my cousin put that in the beauty box, you are amazing) and I cannot believe how surprisingly wonderful this brand is! Tarte Cosmetics is an American beauty brand that was created in 1999 by Maureen Kelly, who as a beauty addict was unsatisfied with cosmetic products that were not good for you. So she set up her own brand with only "healthy" makeup products that also looked glamorous. Tarte Cosmetics is proud to have products without parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, sodium lauryl sulfate, triclosan, synthetic fragrances and gluten, and so on.. and prides itself for its long-lasting formulas. Well, that sounds like a good introduction to me.. let's find out more!
The Tarte of Giving came in a lovely colorful box and after I took out the product it became clear that it was a beauty travel bag! This really excited me because it has a hook, which allows you to close the bag but also to hang it up somewhere easily accessible so you can do your make up wherever. When hanging it up you have a clear view of the three parts of this travelbag, so you can put a lot of make-up in there but it will still be organized.. no need to take it all out and put it on a table to pick and choose... but just look at it whilst in the travel bag. Isn't that just super exciting? Or am I just being a dork?
Well, this is the first of the three parts of the beauty bag. You see why I have to spread out articles about this product over this week. This small see-through toiletry bag can be attached and detached from the travel bag, so you can place the most essential beauty products in here. For now it came with 5 items: a face oil, 2 blushes (well, a cheek stain and a blush), mascara and an eye cream. A review of this part is available here.
The second section of the travel bag (excuse the photo) comes with an eyeshadow palette consisting of 20 different colors that are divided into four groups of matching colors. The lightest color in the group will be perfect to use as a highlighter or as a base color and the darkest color is great towards the outer-V of the eyelid. As you can see.. plenty of colors to play with! If you remove the eyeshadow palette you have a zipped area that allows you to place (narrow) beauty products in them.
The third and final section comes with 8 pink and red toned lipglosses differing from really shimmery to more subtle looking. This section gives you more space for products than the second section did, so it is perfect for creams, hair supplies, and the likes. This travel bag is such a wonderful gift to give to someone. First of all, you are handing over a bag filled with pretty looking beauty products and second of all, once those products are finished.. or if you are going to travel, you can just put your favorite beauty items in there and take it to that unknown destination. It is clear. I am in love. Can you not tell? Are you looking forward to discovering these products as much as I am? Which section are you looking forward to the most, and why?
