With Valentine's Day coming up I thought it would be a nice idea to think about a soft but slightly dramatic beauty look. After having given you some cool or romantic suggestions as a gift, it is time to think about how we could dress up for the day itself. You know, if you celebrate it!
I wanted to create a beauty look that was simple enough, looks natural and could be combined with different types of clothing or social gatherings. This is why I went for nude and brown-toned colors with only a slight (ridiculously soft) eye pencil and some mascara. I used lighter colors on the inside of my eye lids and darker ones on the outside to add a bit of drama to it.
All the colors I used on my eyes are from the I-Divine make-up palette "Storm" by Sleek (click on the link for the review with swatches) and I used a volumizing and nurturing mascara by MAC. I added a light brown matte eyeshadow all over my eyelid, then I just added some color with shimmery brown-red and highlighting eyeshadows. In the outer V of my eyelid I also added a dark brown matte eyeshadow. I chose these colors because I wanted to create two different vibes, by mixing the make-up with two different types of outfits. One was a formal long dress and the other a comfy and warm sweater. The only thing I changed in my make-up was the lipstick.
On the left picture I am wearin Chanel Rouge Allure "Determinee" (number 108) and on the right picture I am wearing "Envoutante" (number 116) by the same brand. I wore my hair differently and added vintage earrings to create a more laid-back but still formal look. It is so easy to create different looks with minor changes! Well, this was my idea of what I could do for Valentine's Day this year - you know... if I were to celebrate it. What do you think? Do you like the beauty look? Is this what you have in mind for Valentine's Day as well? Or would you prefer this beauty look for a different ocassion?
