L'oréal Color Infallible Eyeshadow

l'oréal paris color infallible eyeshadow

Just like with the Essie nail polishes, I had asked my younger sister to purchase as many Color Infallible eyeshadows by L'oréal Paris for me from the Big Bazar because both products were for sale for a very inexpensive price. So, how could I resist?

L'oréal Paris is a famous French beauty brand known around the whole world. When I think of L'oréal I think of all the famous actors and actresses (or models) who are the face of L'oréal or for a specific product. I also think of their famous slogan: "Because You're Worth It". I have seen so much of this brand, as commercial as it is, that I do not really think about it much, nor is it something I specifically look for when shopping. That does not mean they do not have beautiful products. On the contrary, I love their nail polishes and now I love their color infallible eyeshadows too.

The eyeshadows come in special packages, ones that I do not usually come across. Each eyeshadow is found in a single square-circular unit. You can screw the cap off (on which the name of the product is mentioned), then you will notice a small black thingy (I am so well-conversed today) that pushes back the eyeshadows into the small holder. This is quite smart, because we will not have to worry about the eyeshadow breaking. I have four colors: the first eyeshadow is a beige or skin-toned color called "Coconut Shake". This is probably the one I find the least interesting, because I know I will not be using this color a lot or for my eyelids. I will probably just use this as a highlighter in my inner-V or just below my eyebrow. But you never know, I want to create softer looks on my eyes.. and perhaps this color could become useful.

The second color stands out from the start. It is a bright pink with golden flakes in it, which I found rather odd when you just look at it. This eyeshadow is called "Naughty Strawberry", what a name and definitely not the colors I would have imagined with it. The flakes end up giving a beautiful golden shimmer to the bright pink, which creates an unexpected cool color. This makes me think of summer straight away, but perhaps I will start playing with this now as well.

This is probably my favorite color for the four Color Infallible eyeshadows: a soft silver-toned color with a gorgeous shimmer in it. If you slowly build "Sassy Marshmallow" (another weird name) you will really notice how soft this color is, but the more you layer on top.. the brighter it will become. I love this eyeshadow with a simple and thick eyeliner. I even made a look a while back, it's look #1 if you click here

I am very difficult with bright blue colors (or purple-blue ones), because if not applied well it might look like someone beat you to a pulp.. rather than having pretty blue eyeshadow on. You know what I mean? However, this bright "Blue Curacao" looks very interesting. It is the perfect summer color, but could work well with icy looks. Though I am not sure whether the latter would suit me.

The Color Infallible eyeshadows contain ultra concentrated color pigments that apparently give off an intense color finish that supposedly stays on your eyes for up to 24-hours. There is only one way to find out, so let us get with the testing. These eyeshadows certainly do not feel like your regular kind. When touching them with my finger I notice how soft and smooth they are. I can definitely tell that they are creamy, but they are not mushy at all. This must be what a satin-eyeshadow feels like. Meaning that they are creamy, but not so creamy that you will take a whole lot of product with you with just one swipe. The swatches below are one thick swipe with my fingers on my arm. I am amazed with how intens and beautiful the colors are, they are so rich and I love the shine in "Naughty Strawberry" and "Sassy Mushroom". Such a bright blue "Blue Curacao" would be perfect for a fun and flirty summer look and "Coconut Shake" could be used for a more subtle look or as a highlighter.

The colors stay on my eyes throughout the day (whether it was actually 24 hours, I was unable to test because I am usually not awake that long.. though I sometimes do come quite close... but that is another story) but they may slightly lighten at the end of the day. I have not experienced any problem with creasing so far, but I have not needed to apply a lot of the color. The swatches above are about the amount I apply on my eyelids and sometimes even less if I am going for a softer tone. Yes, the colors are quite buildable! Another plus. Are there downsides? Yes, the eyeshadow, per piece, is about €12,50 which might be expensive for some, including me at times, which is why I went for the "on sale" eyeshadows. That is also why these colors are from an old collection, so I doubt you will find them in your regular drug store, but have a look at the new collection or click on "Coconut Shake", Naughty Strawberry", "Sassy Marshmallow", or "Blue Curacao" to buy them via amazon for about 3 pounds. Do you love the unique and handy packaging too? How does the satin eyeshadow feel on your finger? Would you buy or skip this?

By the way, you can view my first look with these eyeshadows here.

  3. Mooie kleurtjes! En als ze al een gewone dag doorstaan ben ik al impressed! ^^ 3 pond voor 1 exemplaar betalen is echt een super deal! 12,50 daarentegen is vrij pijnlijk! :p

  14. Hey Natasja, I'm glad to hear you're a fan! This formula doesn't work very well for me unfortunately. It seems that whatever I do, it fades pretty fast! It's a pity, because I do see nice shades in the line-up!

  15. I love the effect.. I'd probably like the light blue one although again, I only wear eyeshadow during occasions. :) I love Loreal products too but I haven't really tried the makeup line.

  21. I think the only pastel color I've worn ever was probably like a pink. These are really interesting. I'm up for experimenting with color for sure. Thanks for sharing these with us at Countdown in Style too!

  22. They are so nicely pigmented! Also work very well as a base. Love them!

  23. I love the shimmer of these colors. I need to a tutorial of how to properly apply them. Whenever I go pastel (or colorful), my eyes look like they're closed. LOL! I'm going to have to find out how to do it appropriately. Thanks for linking up with Countdown in Style.

  24. That blue color is amazing! It swatches very pigmented and not greenish again your warm skin tone.

But I disagree with you on one thing, I absolutely adore blurple colors.
