Welcome to 2014! Farmaline.be sent me some testers by Bioderma dermatologic laboratory to try out for my sensitive skin. I am always excited to try out products for sensitive skin, because I have not found the right ones just yet. I will be trying out a cleanser and a BB cream. So, time to find out whether these are any good.
Bioderma dermatologic laboratory is a French dermo-cosmetics brand based in Lyon, France. The brand focusses their products on skin care problems, such as sensitivity, couperose and rosacea. The products are classified into the type of skin problems and focus solely on bringing back balance in one's skin. With 20 years of experience Bioderma has become an international brand, available around the world. But strangely not in the U.S.A.
Sensibio AR BB Cream is a tinted facial cream for the sensitive skin, especially one that contains couperose or rosacea. According to Bioderma, this product evens out your skin and gives your skin a healthier glow. The product contains SPF-30, is paraben free and hypoallergenic. More importantly, they claim that it does not only hide the redness that couperose and rosacea cause, but it also diminishes it. This alone was reason enough for me to be excited about the product.
The BB cream comes in a tube and, as you can see on the photo above, I was given the medium colored one. I was hoping it would be close to my skin tone, but as you can see on the picture below it is not. The cream made my face look really bleak. When applying it to my face, for which I used my hands, I noticed that it was dryer than I had expected. So I had to use a bit more product to blend it out evenly but it did not even out as well as I had expected. This was rather disappointing, because it is supposed to be a BB cream but did not feel so creamy. But this could be only me, because I have read many positive reviews about this product. The 40 ml tube is available at Farmaline.be for €17,55.
The two tester-sized cleansing lotions Sensibio H20 were a welcome surprise. I have been looking for good products for my sensitive skin and I had read good reviews about this product, so I was looking forward to trying them out. What is so special about this product? It is made of a "micellaire solution", meaning it it is a water-based cleanser that is very mild in use (so great for sensitive skin but also for dry and normal skin) and cleanses your face easily. I have used this tester for the removal of my make-up, including eye make-up and lipstick. It worked like a charm, though I have to admit I had to use more cottons and product than I normally do with my (oily) make-up removers, but Sensibio H20 cleanses your face and removes make-up at the same time. Plus, I know it's not harming my face as much as other cosmetic products. The cleanser does not contain parabens, soaps, perfumes, and so on. Oh, did I also mention you do not need to wash your face after having used Sensibio H20?! What?!!
I am so happy I finally got to test cleansers based on "micellaire solution", because now I am convinced. I need to use more cleansers like this one from now on. The only other downside (besides using more product and cotton to remove all the make-up) is the price. The Sensibio H20 does not come that cheap. Well, it is not what I usually pay for cleansers.. then again, if it is better for your face, then it should be worth the money! Farmaline.be currently has a promotion going on: 2 bottles of 250 ml for only €25,92! Normally, you will pay €14,85 for one! Have you heard of Bioderma before? And are you familiar with "micellaire solution" cleansers? You should try one out too!
