During the holidays I went for a bit of shopping and I ended up at Benefit. I did not have any products by this brand yet, so I was looking around a bit until I discovered this colorful looking lip and cheek stain. I already have a product similar to this one, but this was a completely different color so I wanted to try it out.
Before I get started with my review.. take a minute to look at this lovely commercial by Benefit of their lip and cheek stains.. it's very cute and it actually makes me want to get the other ones as well.. Oh dear!
Back to business. The Cha Cha Tint comes in a simple but colorful packaging with wild stripes on them. Once I opened the package, I found a small paper inside. Wondering what it was, I quickly unfolded it and discovered it was a visual 'tutorial'. The paper explains how and where to apply the Cha Cha Tint. This is smart and convenient. The cheek and lip stain might not be a common product for everyone, so this is great way to give additional information.
The bottle itself is an even brighter orange than the package, but it does have the same print. The writing and the stripes are very playful, so it is a fun product to look at! The bottle contains 12.5 ml (or 0.42 US fl. oz) of lip and cheek stain. If you remember the lip and blush tint by Catrice, then you will realize that these two are similar products. They both come in a nail polish bottle, but what about the applicator?
Well, the applicator looks like the nail polish applicator brush too! So, this was also new for me, but I must say that I like it! It is best to keep this product far away from my nail polishes though, so I do not get confused when I am sleep deprived (which is often). The color of the lip and cheek stain is a very bright orange, matching the color of the bottle. Will it be too bright on skin?
Benefit describes the color as "mango-tinted", though I think mangoes are a bit more yellowish, I certainly do like that they connected it with something fruity. It is a bright orange color that becomes so soft and fresh once smoothed out on skin. It just adds that bit of color to give you a healthy and awake glow. I absolutely love it. It also leaves a nice stain on your finger(s), so you might want to take that into consideration! See the swatches below:
But what does it look like on my face? The final and most important question. The first picture is me without wearing any Cha Cha Tint, the second picture is when I am wearing it and the third picture (the one in the middle) is a close up in brighter light. The product is very buildable, after you even it out you can add another layer to it and deepen the tropical color. I am also very pleased with how the lip and cheek stain is on my lips. It is not sticky at all, just melted right away into my lips. It does taste rather strange and unpleasant, though.. but we're not supposed to taste it anyways.
I am in love. It really gives you a natural vibrant glow perfect for spring and summer, and it stays on all day. No need to re-apply. I did not have an orange-tinted blush yet, so I am very happy with this product. You can get this summery Cha Cha Tint (or the other three colors) for $30.00, £24.50 or €33.00. In the Netherlands the brand is available at Douglas and in Belgium at Inno. Make sure you have a look, because even though it is quite pricey... it sure is lovely! Are you a fan too? Do you own a lip and cheek stain? Would you like to?
