This cute little nail polish gift set was something I had won during a giveaway by Kirsty, so thank you very much! It took me some while to test them all, because I wear them all my nail polishes until they are no longer wearable (meaning, my nails look hideous haha). But now I can finally share my thoughts with you.
BeautyUK is a make-up brand from the United Kingdom (that one was obvious, right?) and aims to provide the BeautyUK woman with good-quality products for an affordable price that will enable their creativity and passion for beauty. I received the "West End Girl" (number 4) gift set filled with 6 different 8ml nail polishes. The first color was a dark chocolate brown color that seemed to change color the day after the applying it. At first the brown shade was much brighter, but by the next day (when I took the picture) the color seemed to have faded a bit and became more similar to the color in the bottle.
I was really excited to try the second color. As you may know, I am a big fan of pink nail polish. I always tend to buy pretty shades of pink, even if they are very similar to the ones I already have at home. Now this shade of pink was one I did not own yet. It is a deep rosey/salmon pink (I am not able to really place it) and it just looks so elegant. I am absolutely in love. The nail polish was not thin at all, so the application went was easy and after the first layer it was not sheer at all. But, as always, I go for two shades.
Unfortunately, my picture does not clearly show how lovely this color is. It is a simple nude color, but I like the way it looks on my hands because of my skin tone. My middle finger was sort of ruined, because I started cooking and it was not fully dry yet, so I tried to cover up the mess as much as I could. This color was probably the one that covered the least, but this is still the result with only 2 layers of nail polish.
I said I owned a lot of pink nail polishes, right? Well, I also own a lot of green ones! However, I did not have this navy green color yet. I was not very excited about it, because I find it a tad bit of a boring color, but I was happily surprised to find out the color is quite nice. It still is not a color I would go for very often, but I like the effect the navy green color has one my hands. It is different, nothing wrong with that!
This deep and dark burgundy color probably is (together with the pink one) my favorite nail polish from the gift set! I think the color just oozes class and elegance with a hint of something vampy. That last bit just adds a bit of mystery to it. Amazing! Like all the other colors, the application of the nail polish was very easy and the coverage was good. I am really happy I now own such a beautiful nail polish.
To me this is a classic red nail polish. One you can not have enough of! It works so well with all kinds of occasions, be they formal or informal. The color can be playful or very classy; this versatileness is why I love red a lot and this nail polish is no exception!
Well, now that we have taken a closer look at the colors... I can tell you that the application of these nail polishes - to my surprise - were all super easy. All the nail varnish are not thin at all, so with only the first layer, the nail polish spreads evenly and covers perfectly. The polish that covers the least would be the nude one, but even that one looks great after the second layer. In general, the nail polishes remained in perfect state for at least three days but after that it started chipping here and there, but that also depended on how much I did with my hands. I am more than satisfied with this gift set and I am absolutely in love with the pink and burgundy nail polishes! This gift set only costs £4.99! The brand is also available here for Dutch and Belgian readers. Which color is your favorite? Wouldn't this be the perfect gift to give? And have you heard of BeautyUK before?
