Farmaline.be is an online pharmacy that enables you to order your medicinal products from behind your desk, or wherever you may be seated, somewhere in your comfort zone without having to leave the house. Isn't that just convenient? Well, Farmaline.be sent me a package filled with various samples and products to test out. I found all kinds of interesting items that I was more than willing to try out, one being the perfume Rose Imaginaire by Roger&Gallet.
Roger&Gallet is a perfume brand that was created in Paris and can be purchased at apothecaries and commercial beauty shops. The company uses rare plants and natural essences for the distilling of their perfumes. All their scents are based on gardens around the world. Rose Imaginaire is a perfumed water spray inspired by natural flowery essences. The bottle has a simple shape, but I like the ombre pink color of the bottle. Although, I find it a bit masculine looking the abundance of pinkness makes up for it. Perhaps, I am being nitpicky; pink is not even my favorite color. It just is a color that is associated with femininity nowadays.
According to the brand it consists of a fruity freshness of rosebuds from Sicilian gardens and sensual softness from the rose petals from Egyptian gardens. But the spray does not contain rose absolute (= oil extracted from rose petals). Instead it has notes of mandarin and strawberry, that make the scent fresh, and it is melted together with jasmine and violins. A subtle hint of sandalwood and patchouli add to the softness of the fragrance. Well, what does it smell like to me? A first quick sniff lets all the fruitiness in and the longer you smell it, the stronger the scent becomes. When coming back to it later on, the scent becomes soft and sweet. It is quite a gentle fragrance and I surely do associate it with something dreamy. But I would not have mind it being a bit muskier and less sweet.
After smelling it for the first time I was not too sure about the perfume, but after letting it sit on my skin for a while I have to say the scent became quite agreeable. So, I am definitely keeping it around and will be trying it out some more. This product would not have naturally caught my eye in a perfume shop, so I am happy Farmaline.be gave me the chance to discover it. The bottle contains 100 ml of eau de toilette and costs €33,68. What type of eau de toilette do you like? On a side note: don't you just love the beautiful drawings of the roses as seen in the first two pictures?
