I am not sure about you, but I tend to change my beauty products based on which season we are in. The transition from summer to fall is an important one as the weather -slowly but surely- becomes colder and harsher, thus begging for different products.
The most important products, to me, are creams. The change in weather means I will have to start using a slightly more moisturizing and richer face cream, so my face can handle the harsh wind and cold rain better. This is especially important when wearing layers of make-up on top. You might consider buying a cream for dry skin, as this is more than likely to become your skin type in the winter. Don't forget about an even more nourishing night cream!
Keeping your skin moisturized is very important, but we should not forget to hydrate those lips as well! So make sure you are using a good lip balm during the day and an even thicker one in the evening. For me personally, I would opt for lip butters during the day or a lipstick with lip balm on top of it. But here are two great options!
Something to keep in mind is that you might have to opt for a lighter shade of foundation (and everything that goes along with that), unless you do not tan at all during the summer or there is not that much of a difference. I absolutely love the Bobbi Brown foundations, because they come in so many different skin tones (sometimes it is hard to find the right color if you have a darker skin tone) and this one also contains SPF15, still important during the winter.
Bright colors are being tossed to the side now that fall has arrived, so it is time to look at some darker colors that will bring out your eyes or focus all the attention on your lips. For day time looks I would always advice to stick to one focal point in your face, either the eyes or the lips. So, do not make both look extremely heavy! It all comes down to your skin tone, the color of your eyes and hair but I really love the following product, because I associate them with fall.
|1: Chanel Rouge Allure #109 2: Rimmel Burgundy Lustre 3: YSL Forbidden Rouge Volupte Burgundy|
These are some of the things that I will be paying attention to this season: a deep burgundy-purple lipstick, dark and brown-toned eyeshadows and a healthy blush! I love dark colors for fall and winter, but as mentioned before combine them with softer and more gentle colors. On a side note: I would not necessarily call the "high-end" products high-end, because there are way more expensive ones! But I can imagine it is quite a big price to pay for some (including myself at times). What are your beauty must-haves when transitioning to the colder season?
