Storm Palette by Sleek

I can proudly say I am now the owner of my first Sleek I-Divine eyeshadow palette called "Storm". What an exciting name and such gorgeous colors, all thanks to the lovely Kirsty, as I was fortunate enough to have won this amazing gift during her giveaway!

Sleek MakeUP is well-known for its i-Divine palettes of which currently are 15 different eyeshadow palettes. I had put three palettes on my wish list before I had even won this palette. However, Storm wasn't on my wish list because I didn't like the colors as they were represented on the web site. Oh boy, was I wrong!

But let's start with the packaging first. The Storm palette came in beautiful wrapping. I really love how artistic the package looks, so I definitely will be saving it. When you take the product out of the package you will notice a very classy and sleek palette. Simple and stylish, just perfect. When you open the palette you'll notice the upper part has a big mirror, allowing you to use the palette whilst applying your make-up. I'm not a fan of this, because I always use my bathroom mirror or a small table mirror. Either way, it's a good addition because it might be ideal for others.

As you can see, a simple eyeshadow applicator has been added to the palette but I'm not a fan of this either, so I will be using my brushes! The i-Divine palettes all consist of 12 shades that according to Sleek makeUP are:
"super-pigmented, longlasting, mineral based eyeshadows, designed to suit all. Each i-divine palette contain mica-particles that highlight and illuminate giving you an overall radiant effect."
Well, my first instinct is that of accordance because the colors are quite brown-toned. Also, just by looking at them they seem to be intense and vibrant colors. The eyeshadows are all quite shimmery, except for number 3, 11 and 12. These matte shades would be perfect in combination with more shimmery colors, or you could choose to go for a very subtle eye-look by only using the matte eyeshadows. For me personally, it would surely become a combination of the shimmer and matte ones!

Below you can find the swatches. As you can see the colors are really pigmented and give off lots of shimmer. I have to say that I love the matte eyeshadows too, which I usually do not. So, that was a lovely surprise. I am very happy that mineral eyeshadow can give up so much color and radiance.

Just to have some quick fun with it I decided to create two eye-looks used with the Storm Palette. For look #1 I used cold shimmery colors on my eyelid and warm matte colors on top. I blended the colors as much as possible, but it's (both looks are) a bit messy here and there. On the lower eyelid I used a warm and shimmery brown. For look #2 I wanted to blend less and play with some pink and green. As you can see most colors tend to look warm on my eyes, whether I use cold or warm colors (unless they are super bright, like neon colors).

This is what both eyelooks look like on my face. I hope you don't mind the lighting, both pictures were taking on different days and unfortunately there isn't always sufficient light for the pictures. So, I have to play the hand I am dealt. The first picture is look #2 (yes, I am purposely trying to be confusing..) and I used a brown-toned blush by L'Oreal and lipstick by Chanel Rouge Allure. With look #1 I used my new blush tint by Catrice and a lovely lipstick by Chanel Rouge Allure. Click on the picture for a clearer result. A side note: I have been applying my foundation before my concealer and I am not sure what I think of the result yet. What do you think? Maybe I should do a comparison article soon.

Both looks stayed pretty much throughout the day without having to add primer, though the eyeshadow on the lower eyelid did lessen significantly. I think the eyeshadows are amazing in this palette. The brown-toned colors are easy to use on any type of skin color, whether you wish to go for a more natural look or add a bit of pazazz with the lovely green, blue and red-toned shades. My favorite shades will have to be number 7, 9, 10. An i-Divine palette by Sleek only costs €9.99, £7.99 or $9.99, so for more information click hereWhat are your favorite colors?
