A fast-growing beauty brand has opened its first flag ship store in Brussels! Korres, a Greek beauty brand, is known for its natural products and up until this point it was only sold at pharmacies in Belgium. However, Brussels has finally become part of the many international capitals where Korres has opened shop!
As this is the first concept store in Belgium by Korres, I would first like to give you a general introduction. Korres was created in 1996 and started first as a homeopathic product for pharmacies, but has branched out to a cosmetics company expanding its product range to skin -and hair care, make-up, sun products and herbal remedies. All goods are manufactured in collaboration with the University of Athene to ensure and preserve the natural ingredients.
On each product it clearly says what the product does and does not contain, e.g. NO mineral oil, parrafin wax, silicones, parabens, propylene glycol, ethanolamines and YES to Suitable for vegetarians or vegans, wheat/nuts, etc. This quickly allows you to understand whether this product is a yes-go or no-go for you. I certainly appreciate the straightforwardness. Still I dug a little deeper, because I am sure no company really truly produces 100% natural beauty goods, but Korres certainly comes very close and it makes sure you know what the amount of natural ingredients is in each product:
The Korres philosophy has been built on the most natural formulae available but with safety & effectiveness on top of the brand’s agenda. The formulae composition of Korres products is 80 -100% natural. The remaining 0-20% synthetic content adheres to an extremely restrictive standards list with no parabens or harsh chemicals. As part of its ongoing commitment to continuously develop products using technology and research in the most environment-friendly and skin-compatible ways possible, the use of specific synthetic compounds is avoided and replaced with equally effective, beneficial and skin friendly natural ingredients.
The store itself is quite appealing: it uses a lot of white in both the interior design as the design of the packaging and on the walls filled with products it has green lighting. Thus, enforcing the natural aspect of Korres. I like that because it makes the place look more elegant! The make-up looks really good, and uses black and white packaging. I was so infatuated with the lip butters, they looked absolutely gorgeous. Also, it helps knowing that what I am putting on my face consists of mainly natural products. Here are some photo's to get a better impression of the shop and its products (with a thank you to my friend, Marta, for taking most of the pictures).
I should also mention that Korres does not test on animals! All of this sound pretty good to me and I am trying out three different products by them, so I will get back to you on how the products actually work! In the mean time, why don't you have a look at their website (click here for the international site) and their facebook for more information and updates on sales and discount! Don't forget to visit the shop, you can find it at this cute picturesque street: Rue de Rollenbeek 29 in Brussels. I will definitely be returning for the pomegranate lip butter and to test out other beauty products! Ever heard of Korres? What are your thoughts?
