Blush Tint for Cheeks & Lips

I had seen this blush tint for cheeks and lips lying around the Catrice Cosmetics shelves at Kruidvat for a while now and I was very curious about them. So, one day when I randomly went there again to have a look at the limited edition by Catrice, I noticed them again.. and thought to myself: "Why not?!"

Buying anything for my cheeks is always a bit of a dilemma, but lately I've decided to be a bit more careless about my rosacea. Stressing over it, really isn't going to help me out. That's why I finally purchased this interesting looking (I mean, it looks like nail polish!) item that is meant both for your cheeks and lips. For those of you who don't know, you can also use lipstick as a blush or highlighter (assuming you have a fitting color) so the idea that this blush tint came in a nail polish bottle and was liquid, made me very interested. Definitely not something I've bought before.

So far this product only comes in one color, namely Rose Flush (number 010) and the color inside the bottle and on the applicator (shaped like a lipgloss applicator) looks like a very deep bloody red. When applying it to my hand for a swatch you'll notice that the color is much softer with hints of pink in it. According to the bottle, you're supposed to quickly blend this liquid rose-tinted stain with your fingers and then it will give you a natural healthy looking glow. Below you will find the result of this practice in the swatches taken on my hand:

Well, finally I have to take the last test. What does it look like on my cheeks and lips? I wanted to show you how I did it step-by-step, so there you go. The first picture is without anything on my cheeks and lips, the second is just after I applied it and had smoothed it out. The third one is a close up because on the pictures the difference looks so subtle due to how soft and flattering the light is, however when I looked into a mirror I did really notice a big difference. There was a rosy blush on my cheeks and it looked really elegant but not overdone. So, I am very pleased! The product blends in easily, but I do not particularly like it on my lips. It feels like a gel-like texture on my lips, so I would rather apply something else than this blush tint to give them color. But for my cheeks they are wonderful!

If you just want subtlety then apply a bit; if you want it to give you a deeper but natural rosy color then keep adding until you are satisfied. Catrice also claimed that it is long lasting and it certainly does seem that way, but because the healthy glow that it gives you is so subtle you won't really notice much of a difference at the end of the day unless you are a bit more excessive with it, like I was. No matter how long it exactly stays on (though I am counting almost 10 hours now), I do believe it is an easy and affordable way to get a nice rosy glow. The blush tint costs €3,99 and can be purchased at Kruidvat in the Netherlands and Belgium. Click here for a store finder, if you're from another country! Have you bought it already? Are your cheeks looking healthier too?

  9. Ik vind het er best raar uitzien, net nagellak die je op je wangen smeert :p Ik blijf fan van een simpele poeder blush ;)
