Hema is a Dutch retail chain that prides itself for creating its own products. Hema has a beauty line too, consisting of a polish line called "Long Lasting Nail Polish". For a while now, this line also has pastel colors that I came across one day and I just had to have a couple of them, so I picked four: green, purple, pink and orange! Now it's time to review them!
The first pastel colored nail polish I am sharing with you is number 441. I have a couple of green nail polishes and I am always looking to expand that collection, so I obviously had to pick a green pastel nail polish! It applies and covers well in two layers giving off a soft green color. This polish is slightly sober-looking, but I still find it a beautiful color that goes well with different outfits.
The second pastel nail polish is number 444 and is colored purple, but on my nails it seems more greyish purple. It looks really sober and depressing, so I can not say that I am a big fan of this color. But just like the first color it is certainly easy to apply and covers well with two layers.
Number 445 looks a lot like a barbie-pink to me, especially on my nails. Unlike the other colors, this nail polish was much thinner so it did not cover as fast. This nail polish needed 3 layers to get this much coverage. Though this color might be more barbie pink than pastel pink, I still find it a wonderful color that glows. So, it's definitely not a sober nor depressing color!
The last nail polish I picked from the pastel line is number 815. I am a fan of orange and I did not have this shade of orange yet so I was very curious about it. The color in the bottle of polish does not look pastel-y at all! Nor does it on my nails. It really glows; after applying I could not stop looking at my nails. They were screaming for attention! But still, this color of orange is quite soft even if it shines so bright - make sense? This pastel polish was the easiest to apply, because with the first layer it was barely transparent. It covered quite well, but I always go for a second layer, anyways!
As mentioned before I am generally happy with how easily it is applied to your nails and they don't need a lot of layers. Moreover, the colors start to chip after 3 or 4 days, surviving household chores and long hot showers! So I find that quite reasonable when you look at the price. All the bottles contain 11 ml of nail polish and cost €2.50 a bottle. You can find these pastel colors in each Hema store or you could have a look online to see what they offer!
